shining and dancing
my daughter's beautiful soul
sunlight through the leaves

sharp as clear sunlight
words and life reach a balance
turning with the leaves

gently, these bright lives
enter my doors and windows
colours beyond thought

words dropped one by one
until nothing left but sound
thoughts run like water

rise and fill the sky
on waves the colour of thought
my heart for a sail

words shine or destroy
in the landscape of the heart
use them carefully

clear as sharp starlight
I see your heart in your eyes
shadows on the floor

such a mad jumble!
words dance, dust motes in sunlight
spinning and flashing


my heart is learning
the music of your story
layers of deep sound

a familiar light
looks back at me through dark eyes
with doors wide open


the slow explosions
that come from intense stillness
warm quivering breath

my words are mountains
built layer upon layer
whispers to the stars

I seem to have much to say lately
but don't know where to begin.
So what is this need I feel to
explain myself or to find
where I stand amidst
the lives, the wonder
that is around me?
All is connected,
I have no doubt, 
and I am in
wonder
always.

day slowly closes
thoughts lingering with the light
an uncertain sky



eyes meet, then entwined
no ending, or beginning
with warm breath between

growing, expanding
I have been turned inside-out
my heart in the stars

breathing in the words
I become still, then I smile
with their pleasant weight

casual kindness
tossed to me with a smile
cuts deeper than words

this sounds odd only because I lack the words to describe
the humanity...goodness...compassion...nobility...
so many lives sharing the same space
it can totally destroy me
the largeness of it all

face the horizon
with purple clouds in your hair
heart, like wings, outstretched

facing the mountains
the welcome weight of silence
pressed into the ground

following the sun
I run straight into the sky
twilight at my feet

I have been asleep
learning from dreams and whispers
depth in the quiet

repeating numbers
it was a day filled with signs
orange yellow wings

drifting into sleep
the desert becomes so still
brightly coloured dreams

measured in sunlight
quiet steps across the floor
lives swirl and sparkle

strings vibrate with night
the piercing sound of starlight
sing deeply to me
