lives shine and flow around me

haiku eludes me tonight,
perhaps trying too hard to express
that simple gratitude from just being human

may my mirror be cleared of my own reflection
reflecting the depth of the beauty around me
allowed to see into those shining pools
and speechless with the honor

with soft pink laughter
they dance along dark branches
playing in the sun

lost in the colours
as the day enters my room
minutes suspended

the day's golden threads
wrap around me like a gift
walk into the sun

dance close to the edge
and tilt headlong into life
then words become wings

facing Orion
stars fall gently on my skin
life effervescent

while I find my way
steps become light on this path
surrounded by love

with acceptance, grace
my bones the blue-green water
smoothing out the stones

inspired to write
but the words skitter away
in my hands, moonlight

floating in the air
golden minutes of the day
swirl and fall gently

lost in the colour
thousands of heartbeats later
I take a slow breath

shuttered blue windows
open in the winter sky
a flash of red wings

shadows dance with light
in stories told through smiles
death is not quiet
